I bought new, have had little repairs other than routine oil change. Car handles well and has get up and go, also able to haul garden and remodeling items due to seats being able to fold down flat and then push up against front seats for even more room. I like the size of the interior, comfort of seats and arm rests and instrumentation panel adequate.
I would recommend this car to anyone.
I bought used in 2000, it developed an oil leak that Ford couldn't seem to fix, so I traded in on a Pontiac. It was a nice car except for the bad service that the Ford dealer gave. They tried to stiff me on parts etc. would never own another one just because of one dealer.
I also drove this car as a company car, great handling, responded well to increased acceleration, roomy, comfy with good looks. All the bells and whistles and not bad on the gas mileage. I just don't think you can beat this car or the grand prix.
your auto may require what I call the chicken dance, it 's a push the gas peddle, brake for so many times and in a certain order to set the new part to the computer if this makes any sense. you might call GM dealer and see if they will give you to code or if it's in you manual
